Ari has lived a secluded life in the center of a forest. With no friends—aside from the boy who randomly showed up in the woods near the river one day and disappeared from her life a month ago—she has little social experience which gives her a bit of a disadvantage when she gets pulled into another place by fog. The people she first meets are eerily familiar, especially Torren who reminds her of the boy she grew up with. A bit naive and hoping for the best, Ari tries to find a way home, but discovers nothing is as it seems and Torren is the only person who can help her. As she learns about this new world and how to interact with people who may be out to hurt her, she learns more about herself and the connection she has to this new world.
